Assistant Technical Designer (Contract)
Summary

A leading apparel and lifestyle brand is seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to support the Technical Design team in fit preparation, sample management, garment evaluation, and technical documentation. This role will work closely with Senior Technical Designers and cross-functional partners to help ensure fit consistency, product quality, and timely execution throughout the development process.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Technical Design team with fit session preparation and sample organization.
  • Measure garment samples and support fit evaluations as needed.
  • Manage and maintain the seasonal fit sample library.
  • Attend weekly fit sessions and document fit comments and revisions for patternmakers when needed.
  • Own the Sweatshirts/Pullover style category and support related technical development activities.
  • Assist with special projects and additional departmental responsibilities as assigned.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, production, and development teams to support product execution.
  • Maintain organized records, technical files, and workflow documentation.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in Technical Design or a related apparel product development role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat skills.
  • Experience with PLM and/or PDM systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of performance or active apparel construction and fabrics is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and strong work ethic.

Contract Details

  • 6-month contract assignment
  • Onsite schedule
  • Location: Culver City, CA
  • Pay Rate: $38.50 /hour
