Application Architect

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Jacksonville, FL, or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of a complex technology platform, including Java, MS SQL Server, and Oracle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for production support activities such as incident and problem management, release and deployment, and application monitoring. This position requires hands-on experience in a production support environment and the ability to work in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities:

• Run the day-to-day operations of the technology platform (Java, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Unix, Dynatrace or App Dynamics)
• Identify possible production issues, create incident tickets, and communicate effectively with development and business teams
• Manage incidents/problems, releases/deployments, operational readiness, and application monitoring
• Actively engage and lead production support issues, taking ownership of escalations for troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution
• Perform analytical, technical, and administrative work in planning, installing, and supporting new and existing equipment and software
• Ensure production and performance SLAs are met
• Create and enhance administrative, operational, and technical policies and procedures
• Serve as an escalation point for the resolution of moderately complex unresolved problems
• Support an on-call rotation for off-hours and weekend support as needed

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant IT experience (Production Support, ITIL, Release Support, Technical Implementations, or equivalent)
• Proven knowledge in Java/J2EE (Core Java, JDBC, EJB, Java Web Services) and server-side technologies (SOAP/Restful services, XML/XSLT, MQ, Micro Services, MuleSoft)
• Good knowledge of Middleware components such as Message Broker, IBM Websphere MQ, JBoss application server, or MuleSoft
• Strong operating system knowledge in Unix and Windows, including strong scripting skills
• Experience with Oracle, DB2, and PL/SQL query performance tuning
• Experience handling various production support roles (L1/L2/L3) and using monitoring/scheduling tools
• Experience with troubleshooting, analysis, research, and resolution using advanced query and programming skills
• Ability to work closely with Technology Infrastructure and Development Testing Teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
