What to Expect
Tesla is seeking an experienced Facilities Millwright Technician to support maintenance, welding, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and facility systems within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production uptime, equipment reliability, and safe facility operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial machinery installation and alignment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Install, maintain, weld, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and facility equipment
- Perform precision alignment, leveling, and assembly of mechanical systems and rotating equipment
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and production equipment
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, layout drawings, and technical manuals
- Perform rigging, equipment relocation, and machinery installation projects
- Inspect machinery and facility systems for wear, vibration, or operational concerns
What You'll Bring
- 3 years of millwright, industrial maintenance, or mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience installing, aligning, and maintaining industrial machinery and rotating equipment
- Strong knowledge of conveyors, bearings, motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Experience with rigging and equipment moving procedures
- Comfortable working in physically demanding industrial environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work overtime or varying shifts as needed
- Experience using precision measurement and alignment tools
Essential Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
