Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will play a critical, hybrid role driving both operational performance and strategic growth within Green Bay Packaging's Specialty Division and Key Customers. This position is a blended role responsible to focus on operational improvement, efficiency, and internal alignment coupled with commercial strategic account expansion and revenue growth.
This individual will serve as a key collaborator between sales and operations, bringing deep industry knowledge, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to influence without direct authority.
Responsibilities


  • Partner with Specialty Division leadership to identify and implement initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.



  • Drive working capital improvements through better alignment of production planning, inventory management, and customer demand.



  • Act as a liaison between sales and operations to ensure smooth onboarding and scale-up of new business opportunities.



  • Support the development and execution of structured onboarding plans for new accounts and product lines.



  • Coach and develop key operational team members to strengthen execution and accountability.



  • Identify gaps between commercial commitments and operational capabilities and help close those gaps.



  • Execute targeted outreach and structured engagement with top-priority accounts.



  • Identify and pursue specialty product opportunities within accounts that have existing or prior relationships with Green Bay Packaging.



  • Build consultative relationships with key stakeholders to uncover new applications and drive value-added solutions.



  • Develop and implement account-specific growth strategies aligned with divisional capabilities.



  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications


  • Previous experience in sales, with an emphasis on coated products sales

  • Strong, aggressive sales and prospecting abilities

  • Ability to build rapport with prospects and clients

  • Ability to work across multiple teams and across Green Bay Packaging divisions

  • Ability to travel over 25%

  • Commitment to outstanding customer service

  • Reports to National Account Manager

  • This position offers a base salary with a commission structure. Commission payments are distributed on a quarterly basis.
