Summary Responsible for supporting the identification, documentation, and control of finished goods, intermediate goods, and raw materials for each distinct baseline configuration throughout the product lifecycle. Supports processes to ensure that changes to product and documentation are performed in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements including CMA policies and procedures. Under supervision and following established policies, perform CMA configuration management assignments leveraging full adoption and application of industry-leading configuration management principles, theories, concepts, techniques, technologies, and best practices to consistently achieve 100% conformance for 100% of the configurations. Job assignments usually involve a high degree of complexity of difficulty. Most tasks require the development of new ideas, methods, or approaches. Ability to evaluate conditions, recognize issues, and determine best course of action with the support of senior associates required. Job will require building awareness and learnings of configuration management best practices and standards and acts to incorporate those practices into CMA organization. Duties and Responsibilities * Perform tasks that support configuration management vision and goals to realize 100% part conformance and maximize configuration status accounting visibility, and work to achieve key metrics by communicating with project owners. * Support existing configuration management systems and processes, promote communication and increased configuration status accounting definition and resolution. * Understand and work to improve requirements and controls based on the five fundamental elements of configuration management and support monitoring of effectiveness. * Participate and provide configuration management processes support, including providing direction and consultation, to various programs, departments, and key stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle. * Administer change board meetings and project review board meetings as needed * Perform limited technical and configuration management administrative tasks. * Perform technical document control to ensure compliance to document control standards and to verify that revisions to documents are managed appropriately. * Prepare and maintain configuration status accounting reports as required, and perform follow up with users of configuration management processes based on status accounting reports. * Assist in implementation of configuration management requirements across CMA sites including identification, control and status accounting. * Assist in preparation of technically accurate and concise engineering documentation, including project documentation and requirements documentation. * Analyze customer configuration management requirements and determine methods to implement any new requirements. * Assist in the planning or direction of process improvement projects. * Provide audit support for various functional areas to ensure compliance with configuration management practices. Skills and Specifications * Effective interpersonal and communication skills. * Limited ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and related specifications. * Ability to write clearly and concisely. * Understanding of appropriate codes, regulations and specifications as well as applicable customer requirements and their relationships with products. * Understanding of configuration management principles and practices * Ability to use or learn various computer systems such as CATSWeb, MES, and Microsoft D365 to produce data, analysis and reports. * May require knowledge of design practices, prepreg manufacturing techniques and inspection requirements. * Ability to prioritize projects and activities, set schedules, and manage own time. Education and Qualifications * Minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing or aerospace required. Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline preferred. * Experience with document management software and processes preferred. * Experience in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, Word and Power Point required. * This position involves working with technologies and information which are subject to U.S. export control regulations. Under these regulations, Toray CMA must review certain candidate information including citizenship, basis of United States work authorization and country of origin. Position requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. Position frequently requires the ability to make decisions related to product and quality issues. Ability to hear, speak, use hands/fingers and the repetitive motions of hands/wrists are frequent.
