Job Summary: The Faculty in School of Behavior Health is responsible for education, research, and/or service. Demonstrates loyalty to the mission, policies, standards, and regulations of his/her department, school, and the University, and follows the administrative policies set up by the University and the individual school. Performs other duties as needed. The salaried rate of pay will be determined commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Education and Experience: A master's or higher from an accredited institution. An earned doctoral degree in Marital and Family Therapy, Counseling, or closely related field. Two or more years of professional clinical practice and/or classroom teaching experience. Teaching experience can be met by courses taught while earning the doctoral degree or by post doctorate teaching assignments. Other teaching assistantship experiences will be considered if there is evidence that the assignment included primary responsibility over classroom instruction. Clinical leadership or clinical supervision experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able speak in English with professional quality. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Professional certification, licensure or registration as appropriate. Current clinical licensure as an LMFT or LPCC . Eligibility for or designation as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor or Supervisor Candidate.
