We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Representative - Commercial Specialty / General Liability to manage moderate to complex commercial claims involving bodily injury and property damage. This role is responsible for independently investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving third-party General Liability claims, including matters involving unique, specialized, or high-risk exposures beyond standard commercial policies.

This position offers both remote and hybrid work locations. Candidates who reside within 50 miles of an office location (West Bend, Madison, Appleton) will be offered a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are fully remote (beyond 50 miles) may occasionally be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.

Manage a range of moderate to complex claims with minimal supervision, including bodily injury, PIP, and general liability property damage. Use critical thinking to research and develop a foundation for making coverage decisions. Conduct comprehensive investigations to assess damages and liability. Negotiate settlements with insured parties, claimants, and attorneys. Possess an in-depth understanding of relevant policies, endorsements, and specialized technical knowledge, including contracts, risk transfers, and indemnification tenders. Responsible for effective file management, ensuring accurate reserving, presenting claims to committees, and drafting reservation of rights and coverage denial letters. Demonstrate consistent high-quality customer service and adhere to departmental audit standards. Participate in projects and initiatives as needed. Be a proactive team player with a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to change. Ideally based in the Milwaukee or Madison metro area.

• 2-3 years prior complex claims handling experience (emphasis on bodily injury and GLPD)

Preferred Education and Training:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or related field
• Associate in General Insurance designation
• Associate in Claims designation

The salary range for this position is $68,000-$90,000.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
