Continuation past the termlengthdiscussed willbebasedonuniversityneed,performance,and/oravailabilityoffunding.POSITION SPECIFICS The Penn State School of Theatre seeks candidates for the position of Scenic Art Supervisor. This is a non-tenure line, 36-week 1-year term appointment at the rank of Clinical Lecturer to begin in the fall 2026 semester. Duties include teaching Scene Painting and Advanced Scene Painting offered to both graduate and undergraduate students and supervising all aspects of the paint shop operations. This includes maintaining stock, equipment, and paint shop facility; supervising graduate and undergraduate crews; mentoring student Charge Artists and/or serving as Charge Scenic Artist on a six show School of Theatre season; and painting scenery as necessary. Candidate must have a valid driver's license and be able to actively participate in all aspects of paint shop operations, including maintaining the HAZCOM Program. Professional scene painting experience is required, preferred qualifications include teaching experience and experience supervising crews.
