Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Analyst, Sustainability The Analyst, Sustainability will support sustainability reporting cycles, stakeholder requests, and cross-functional program coordination, with a strong emphasis on greenhouse gas (GHG) and other environmental metrics. This role helps ensure data completeness, narrative clarity, and on-time delivery for internal and external reporting while supporting continuous improvement of reporting processes and documentation.

Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of waste management systems and GHG accounting methodologies, coupled with strong writing skills to synthesize complex inputs into clear narratives and summaries.

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Supports recurring ESG/sustainability reporting processes by coordinating inputs, maintaining trackers, and preparing draft sections and exhibits (tables/figures) under guidance
  • Assists with responding to stakeholder information requests (customers, investors, raters/rankers where applicable) by compiling accurate data and documentation
  • Helps maintain clear documentation, audit trails, and supporting files to improve reporting readiness and consistency
  • Supports collection, validation, and organization of GHG and environmental data (waste, energy, fuels, water) from internal partners and vendors
  • Assists with GHG inventory updates, QA/QC checks, and preparation of supporting materials for reviews and potential assurance activities
  • Translates technical information into user-friendly summaries for non-technical stakeholders (e.g., leadership-ready updates)
  • Supports sustainability initiatives by managing workplans, meeting notes, action items, and timelines; follows up with owners to keep deliverables on track
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of reporting processes, templates, and guidance documents
  • Monitors emerging sustainability reporting trends/requirements and summarizes implications for internal reporting practices
  • Provides basic support for sustainability tools (e.g., data templates, trackers, the waste allocation tool), escalating complex issues to senior team members
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education

- Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, business, analytics or related field (required)


Experience

  • 2+ years of experience (including internships) supporting reporting, data collection, project coordination or sustainability programs (required)
  • Experience in environmental data management and sustainability reporting (required)
  • Experience working in or with environmental services, waste management, or similar operationally complex industries (preferred)
