Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and helping prevent speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders.

Essential Functions
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior speech pathologists and other healthcare professionals.
-Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders in patients.

-Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
-Provide therapy to patients with various communication and swallowing disorders.
-Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
-Communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and treatment plans.
-Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Education
Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology required

Licenses and Credentials
Speech-language Pathologist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology [CCC-A] - American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology [CCC-SLP] - American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred

Experience
Speech pathology experience 2-3 years required and Acute hospital experience 2-3 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with diagnostic assessments for speech-language.
- Employee must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to incorporate new clinical procedures sufficiently to perform clinical services independently.
- Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology and speech-language pathology scope of practice.
- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations.

Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist- MEE Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship Clinic

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to staff our unique and newly launched one-day per week multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship clinic located at Mass Eye and Ear. The applicant must have recent and extensive experience in managing the swallowing and speech complaints associated with head and neck cancer treatment as patients travel their survivorship journeys. The clinician must be proficient in performing swallow screening, Flexible Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing (FEES) and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, patients and caregivers. The clinic will run on Tuesdays from 12.30-4.30pm but may be expanded to a full day schedule in the future.
