Responsible for providing daily support to a subsection of the phlebotomy team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to practice standards. Offers instruction and guidance, high-level problem solving, and operational tasks as delegated. Essential Functions -Works autonomously within established procedures and practices. -Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. -Oversees daily activities of phlebotomists and students, with a focus on safe patient care and satisfaction. -Coordinates workflow to ensure timely collection of specimens and staff deployment or coverage. -Serves as a technical expert for all collection procedures and assists with difficult draws, research kits, and special procedures. -Signs off on technical training of new staff and annual competency documentation. -Assists the manager or supervisor in implementing schedule changes, may monitor staff absences, and provides input on improvements or proposed policy changes.
