POSITION DESCRIPTION

A Geologist at SET Engineering is responsible to:

  • Assist project managers in execution of project work on time and within budget
  • Perform field work consisting of soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling
  • Complete environmental investigation activities such as overseeing drilling activities, logging soil, and installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells
  • Complete Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Evaluate environmental data comparing data to state or federal clean-up standards
  • Complete stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs)for commercial and industrial clients
  • Prepare spill prevention, control and countermeasure plans (SPCC) for commercial and industrial clients
  • Provide environmental expertise for new projects and project improvements
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and assess management of change requirements
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.
  • 1-5 years of experience in the Environmental Engineering field
  • EIT, Professional Geologist preferred
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, as well as organizational skills
  • Ability to interact professionally and independently within the company and with the customer, vendors, and associates
  • Must be flexible to work different hours as needed by the department/business
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in challenging conditions
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Knowledge of government environmental compliance regulations and procedures
  • Ability to travel (25%-50%)
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
