We are in search of a Construction Loan Processor II to join our Specialized Lending department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters). This full-time position reports to the Manager, CHL Processing and is responsible for processing construction loans including documentation, verification of borrower information, compliance with lending regulations, monitoring construction progress and the disbursement of funds.

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position in Spokane, Washington is:

Level II:
Typical starting range: $44,200 - $58,900
Full base salary range: $44,200 - $66,200
Annual performance-based incentive target is 6% of base.

Essential Duties



  • Prepare and process construction home loan files.
  • Conduct comprehensive contractor due diligence, including license and insurance verification, financial stability assessment, background checks, and reference validation to ensure contractor qualifications and mitigate project risk.
  • Review and analyze contractor-submitted documentation, such as construction plans, contracts, cost breakdowns, and project timelines, ensuring alignment with lender requirements and industry standards.
  • Facilitate contractor interviews and risk assessments, maintaining detailed records and providing recommendations for contractor approval based on thorough evaluation and compliance with internal policies.
  • Process construction loan draws, permissions to occupy, and review lien releases.
  • Coordinate closings, and prepare file for funding within a timeframe that will allow the loan to close according to customer expectations.
  • Review draw requests to identify possible budget problems.
  • Review inspection reports and draw documents for accuracy, and for conformance with the loan budget.
  • Ensure compliance with organization and industry regulations and procedures.
  • Perform data input and due diligence for Country Home Loan portfolio.
  • Perform file maintenance on loans, including managing customer accounts, updating yearly monitoring requirements, and confirming continued insurance coverage.
  • Assist with title review.
  • Preform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Travel Requirements



  • AgWest employees may occasionally be asked to travel for all-staff or team meetings not included in the standard travel requirements for the role.


Minimum Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous and progressively responsible relevant experience in lending, banking or related field, generally over the span of at least two years
  • Ability to effectively learn and utilize a wide variety of systems/software
  • Knowledge and demonstration of effective customer service and verbal/written communication skills
  • Proven ability to understand and complete credit and financial documents
  • Awareness and understanding of applicable industry regulations
  • Knowledge of credit investigation and verification practices
  • Knowledge of loan closing processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with comfort and working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a MNLS license within six months of assuming the role


Preferred Qualifications



  • Relevant experience in lending, banking, or a related field
  • General knowledge of applicable credit laws and regulations, and legal terminology
  • Knowledge of credit investigation and verification practices
  • Knowledge of loan closing processes
  • Knowledge of construction
