Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all quality functions at our large manufacturing facility in Ogden, Utah. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving quality culture, systems, and performance across the plant. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with the potential to succeed into a Plant Manager role within 1-2 years.
Key Responsibilities
*Set the quality culture and strategic direction for the entire facility.
*Lead and oversee Manufacturing Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Material Inspection, Test Lab, Metrology, and Customer Relations teams.
*Drive problem-solving efforts and ensure systemic root cause analysis to eliminate quality issues.
*Champion continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
*Work closely with production, engineering, and technical support teams to resolve complex quality challenges.
*Manage resources, remove obstacles, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
*Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to a team of quality professionals (8-10 direct reports).
*Interpret and execute company policies while developing strategies for support systems and process improvements.
Requirements
*Education
*Bachelor"s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related technical field) required
Experience
*Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Quality leadership roles
*Strong background in automotive, metal mechanics, or aerospace manufacturing
*Previous experience managing large teams and complex manufacturing operations
Technical Skills & Certifications
*Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (strongly preferred)
*Lean Manufacturing expertise
*Knowledge of IATF 16949 or equivalent quality standards
*Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Leadership Profile
*Hands-on leader with a strong 'floor presence'
*Proven ability to take ownership and drive results
*Excellent communication, influence, and team development skills
*High level of accountability and a perfection-oriented mindset
*Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment with global stakeholders
