UC San Diego Health Sciences' mission is to deliver outstanding patient care through commitment to the community, groundbreaking research and inspired teaching. The division of Medical Education within the UC San Diego School of Medicine consists of the following units: Undergraduate Medical Education, Admissions & Student Affairs, Diversity and Community Partnerships, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development, Simulation Education, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomical Services, Business Affairs and Educational Technology. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of approximately 560 medical students, 90 physician assistant students, 1000 residents and fellows as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD's School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates. The Proctor & Operations Support role reports to the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) and is responsible for supporting the administration of UC San Diego School of Medicine (SOM) examinations in accordance with guidelines from the SOM Committee on Educational Policy, the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME), and the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). Proctoring duties include monitoring students, starting and ending examinations on time, distributing and collecting exam materials, and identifying and documenting any irregular or unusual behaviors (e.g., students leaving and re-entering the room or not adhering to guidelines). The proctor is also responsible for recognizing and responding to technical or exam-related issues that arise during testing, including promptly escalating concerns in accordance with established protocols. Operational and event support is provided on an as-needed basis and consists of discrete, time-limited tasks (e.g., room setup, materials distribution, and on-site session support) to assist UGME activities during peak periods. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $53,160 - $75,335 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $25.46 - $36.08 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
