DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Clinic Manager, the Front Desk Associate is the first point of contact for patients. The Front Desk Coordinator performs and coordinates front office patient centered duties, to include, but not limited to, greeting patients, co-pay collection, appointment scheduling, template adjustments, authorizations and referrals. The Front Desk Coordinator serves as a resource for patients, physicians, staff, and ambulatory care service managers. Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of three (3) years previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.

  • Proven problem solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customers' expectations are met.

  • Demonstrated computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls.

  • Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over phone.

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

  • Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.

  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.

  • Have strong organizational skills with independent ability to set priorities, handle deadlines and manage conflicting demands with limited supervision.

  • Be able to maintain strict confidentiality with demonstrated experience applying good judgment and discretion.

  • Be able to work with any current and new department process changes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date
  • Minimum 1 year related experience in an Ambulatory Clinic environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Neurology clinic experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • May be required to float to other sites to provide coverage as needed.
  • Possible overtime required as needed.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $57,399 - $71,347 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $27.49 - $34.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
