Our TeamThe Health Human Resources Labor Relations Team serves a critical role in ensuring UC San Diego Health strategically and effectively navigates a variety of complex issues associated with the negotiation, implementation, and interpretation of several systemwide and local collective bargaining agreements while maintaining outstanding patient care. The University of California currently has systemwide collective bargaining agreements in place with eight unions (soon to be nine), with some unions having several collective bargaining units. Our dedicated team provides detailed, timely, and high-quality services in a dynamic fast-paced environment while fostering positive relationships between the unions and University leadership. We provide hybrid work arrangements with the team currently on site three days a week after completing a six-month probationary period and occasional local travel is expected. The PositionDepending on experience and qualifications of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Labor Relations Representative level 2 (Analyst) or level 3 (Specialist). The Labor Relations Analyst is an entry-level position serving in a supporting capacity within the Labor Relations team as the initial point of contact for inquiries from the unions and other external entities. If selected at this level, this role will primarily focus on co-managing a shared inbox, conducting and assigning intake accordingly, and triaging entry level inquiries from the union and other external entities. The Labor Relations Specialist is an experienced individual contributor within the Labor Relations team, responsible for independently managing moderately to complex labor relations matters. This role applies a strong working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, labor law, and union environments to resolve issues, respond to union inquiries, and advise management and HR team members. The position works with minimal day to day direction, collaborates with senior labor relations professionals on higher impact matters, and is expected to provide coverage for the Labor Relations Analyst role as needed. The successful candidate at either level must have impeccable attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and will display the ability to exercise sound judgment in navigating a fast-paced environment in a variety of highly advanced labor relations contexts, including, but not limited to, the following:
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $65,800 - $115,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $31.51 - $55.08 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
