Our Quality Control team in West Allis, Wisconsin plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and performance of microbial cultures used across the dairy, meat, and wine industries. You'll join a collaborative QC organization responsible for the testing and release of fermentation bulk and packaged finished goods. The broader team includes QC Lab Technicians, Lead Technicians, Media Technicians, Lab Aides, and a QC Intern, all working closely together to support production, quality, and continuous improvement. The Role & Your Impact

As a QC Lab Technician I, you will perform routine microbiological and analytical testing under close supervision while building strong foundational laboratory skills. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals eager to grow their technical expertise and understanding of production processes in a regulated manufacturing environment. Your work ensures that products released from our site meet strict quality, safety, and compliance standards-making you a key contributor to operational excellence and customer trust.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine laboratory testing with a strong focus on accuracy, reliability, and proper execution of test methods
  • Following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), compliance, and safety requirements at all times
  • Using aseptic techniques to maintain sterility of media, equipment, and work areas
  • Recording detailed and accurate test results and evaluations in company systems such as SAP and LIMS
  • Collaborating with teammates to support daily laboratory operations and participating in QC, project, and crossfunctional meetings prepared and on time

What You'll Need to Be Successful

This role is well-suited for someone early in their laboratory career who is motivated to learn and grow.

Required qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field or three years of full-time laboratory experience
  • Ability to work effectively under close supervision while developing technical confidence
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English for business purposes

Ways of Working / Working Conditions

  • Schedule: Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
  • Rotating pod requirement: For approximately four months per year (not consecutively), the schedule shifts to Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • On-site role only
  • Overtime: Weekly overtime is not typical; however, employees are required to work one major holiday and one minor holiday per year, which results in overtime
  • Physical demands: You will be on your feet for the majority of the shift
  • Work environment: Temperature-controlled laboratory and manufacturing setting with exposure to mechanical equipment, industrial noise, food and biological materials, chemical agents, and fermentation process odors

Production and warehouse requirements include:

  • No jewelry, false fingernails, nail polish, false eyelashes, heavy perfume/cologne, bobby pins, or small hair clips
  • Adherence to personal hygiene, food and beverage restrictions, and limited cell phone use in production areas

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $26.00 per hour
  • 401(k) with up to a 9% company contribution
