As an Operator, you will operate machinery or utilize equipment to produce components to specified dimensions and characteristics according to quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate required machines or equipment to produce a diversified range of parts on short or long run work, and exacting finish specifications. Follow established procedures, verbal instructions, and information obtained from set-up cards and layout sheets (certified process or engineered cycles) to ensure parts are manufactured per process and drawing requirements.
- Replace worn tooling and adjust machines as needed
- Use micrometers, verniers, optical comparator, microscope, and a variety of fixed and adjustable gauges to set-up equipment and check work. Review calibration of all measuring equipment. Patrol machines using the 4-bin system.
- Operate automation equipment and provide minor troubleshooting within work area as assigned
- Diagnose and correct operating difficulties, maintain required records, detect and report unusual conditions to assigned leader.
- Keep work area clean and orderly, observing all safety rules and regulations, and conforming to OSHA regulations.
- Move materials, parts, and containers, as required, to complete job duties.
Job Skills and Abilities:
- Read, reference and interpret written and verbal instructions; always following established standard procedures
- Perform basic mathematical calculation, maintain an understanding of standard and metric system.
- Maintain established production levels and quality standards
- Recognize and report any irregularities as to fits, defective parts, finishes, work techniques and/or quality of workmanship
- Maintain necessary records; work is subject to audited inspections
Education and Experience Required:
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Includes must be able to: stand, walk, bend, reach, grab, twist, carry, push and pull.
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
