Job Summary
  • Maintains and repairs equipment, vehicles, and/or facilities used for carrying out the operations.
Main Responsibilities
  • Perform major machine and component overhauls.
  • Proficient in Cat ET and SIS, Volvo tech tool, JD LINK and Cummins insight.
  • Diagnose, estimate and complete repairs in the and field.
  • Significant knowledge of Cat rigid frame haul trucks.
  • Shovels, Cat and Hitachi.
  • Must know trucks, backhoes, excavators, pavers, loaders, generators and have welding & electrical skills.
  • Must have own tools.
Education
  • High School diploma, GED or trade school equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of heavy equipment mechanic experience.
Skills
  • Helps promote a culture of safety.
  • Must have a CDL and Medical Examiners Card.
  • Must have MSHA certification.
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
  • Successful completion of physical abilities test.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
  • Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Frequently sit, climb, and use their hands.
  • Occasionally be required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
  • Occasionally lift and move 50 pounds or greater.
