Corporate Purchasing Agent

The Corporate Purchasing Agent plays a critical role in supporting Waste Pro USA's corporate and field operations by strategically sourcing and procuring goods and services to achieve the best overall value. This position oversees daily purchasing activities, ensures strict compliance with company policies, drives supplier performance, and actively contributes to cross-functional supply chain initiatives designed to optimize cost efficiency and elevate service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing & Order Management

* Manage supplier communications to ensure accurate pricing, timely delivery, and seamless order fulfillment.

* Develop, issue, and evaluate RFQs/RFPs, selecting vendors based on optimal cost, quality, and service metrics.

* Reconcile invoices and proactively resolve discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and Accounts Payable.

* Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to divisions and departments on standard purchasing procedures and requirements.

* Champion the rollout and adoption of purchasing process improvements and system updates.

Supplier & Contract Management

* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers, conducting regular performance evaluations.

* Oversee contract documentation, ensuring strict adherence to negotiated terms and conditions.

* Execute comprehensive sourcing research and benchmark supplier options to uncover strategic cost-saving opportunities.

Data Integrity & Reporting

* Generate and present detailed purchasing and spend reports for internal stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.

* Drive organizational compliance with corporate purchasing programs and preferred supplier mandates.

Supply Chain Project Support

* Actively participate in cross-functional supply chain projects targeting cost reduction and continuous process improvement.

* Monitor critical project milestones and deliverables, proactively identifying and mitigating risks or delays.

* Coordinate extensive data collection and analysis efforts alongside operations, finance, and supplier partners.

* Evaluate existing supply chain workflows and recommend strategic enhancements.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Attend and actively participate in company-sponsored training.

* Participate in industry and purchasing training events to remain current on trends, products, and services impacting managed categories.

* Perform any additional duties assigned by leadership.

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field (equivalent professional experience may be considered).

* Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is strongly preferred.

* 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, supply chain, or materials management.

* Proven experience in commodity management and fleet procurement, maintenance, or operations is highly preferred.

* Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Comprehensive understanding of modern procurement processes, strategic sourcing methodologies, and supplier evaluation criteria.

* Exceptional negotiation, interpersonal communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.

* Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and SharePoint.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

* Standard office environment with computerbased work.

* Occasional travel to Waste Pro divisions or supplier sites may be required.
