Job Description
ECU Department of Earth, Environment and Planning: Harriot College of Arts and Sciences is currently seeking a Computer Lab Assistant in the Y.H. Kim Computing Lab. The Kim Computing lab is the primary drop-in computing facility in the Brewster Building with a total of 60 PCs and Macs. The purpose of this position is to provide supervision of the Kim Computing Lab facilities during drop-in hours.

The individual in this position will also assist the Kim Lab director in lab maintenance and in the provision of lab-related computing needs of faculty and students.

This position requires the individual to work 10-25 hours per week during the academic year and may require occasional evening hours.
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)

  • This position prefers that the applicant be enrolled in an Arts & Sciences undergraduate or graduate program.
  • The applicant must remain in good standing in their program of study.
  • The applicant must have some experience with microcomputer based word processors, spreadsheets, database managers, web browsers.
  • Knowledge of either GIS software, economics software (e.g., EViews), or statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Stata) is desirable.


Microcomputer hardware maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
