Position Summary

This role is responsible for performing minor to moderate electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on electromechanical equipment to identify root causes of failures and restore functionality. The position involves diagnosing issues, disassembling and repairing components, rebuilding and modifying equipment as required, and verifying performance using appropriate test and diagnostic tools. Work is performed in accordance with technical documentation, safety standards, and quality system requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair nonfunctioning electromechanical equipment.
  • Disassemble, adjust, repair, assemble, and rebuild equipment using blueprints, schematics, layout plans, operating manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Utilize test and diagnostic equipment to perform system checkouts and verify proper operation.
  • Perform equipment modifications and rebuilds as required to meet operational or customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with ISO 9000 and other quality standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including hazardous waste management requirements.
  • Provide technical support with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Assist with cost estimation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and demonstrate leadership when required.


Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of equipment maintenance experience, preferably within the semiconductor or electronics industry.
  • Associate's degree (AA) or higher in Electronics or a related technical field preferred; equivalent handson experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Working knowledge of cleanroom equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Experience with precision test equipment and the ability to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards and associated documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and experience with the WINSPC system.
  • UNIX experience is a plus.


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong electronic troubleshooting skills, including:

    • Oscilloscope setup and use
    • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
    • Boardlevel testing and repair (preferred)


  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills applicable to semiconductor equipment such as circuit boards, pneumatics, pumps, robots, and related systems (nonheavy machinery).
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Sound technical judgment and methodical troubleshooting approach.
  • Experience with lasers and optical alignment is a plus.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Selfmotivated, resultsdriven, and capable of taking initiative.
  • Basic programming experience (e.g., Visual Basic, Java) is a plus.
  • UNIX scripting experience (Shell, Perl) is a plus.
  • CAD design proficiency is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within strict safety protocols and environmental requirements.
