Qualifications

Education and Experience: Experience equivalent to one year of custodial work.

Overview

Under general supervision, performs custodial work of moderate difficulty; and performs related work as required. This is a lead level classification in the TSP Custodial Worker series. An employee in this class may be assigned to work any shift in providing custodial services at facilities in Tennessee State Parks. This class leads and trains TSP Custodial Workers on cleaning and custodial tasks. This class differs from that of TSP Park Custodial Worker in that an incumbent of the latter is responsible for performing routine custodial services and does not lead staff. This class differs from that of the TSP CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR in that an incumbent of the latter supervises a staff of TSP CUSTODIAL staff.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize cabins, recreation hall, park office,

    campground bathhouses and public restrooms.

  • Operate a variety of custodial equipment, including washing machines, dryers, vacuums, and moving furniture as needed for cleaning.
  • Utilize cleaning supplies, including but not limited to bleach, disinfectants, and polishers.
  • Remove trash from the grounds surrounding the facilities.
  • Report repairs or supplies needed in the facilities. Perform light maintenance of the equipment utilized.

  7. Ability to troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors in equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, or other custodial equipment
