lWork Authorization: W2 ONLY Role Overview We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support APIdriven initiatives within a fastpaced, highvisibility environment. This role requires someone who is wellspoken, confident, and professional, with the ability to work closely with engineering, product, and business partners. This is a handson role, not a documentationonly BA position. The team currently lacks someone who can test APIs and write clear, technical requirements, and this role will directly fill that gap. Key Responsibilities Technical & API Responsibilities * Perform handson API testing using Postman, validating request/response behavior, status codes, and data accuracy * Document and validate RESTful API requirements, including endpoints, payloads, and error handling * Read, analyze, and map JSON and XML data structures * Partner with developers to clarify API contracts and reduce rework * Validate backend data using SQL (joins, subqueries, basic data profiling) Business Analysis Responsibilities * Elicit and translate business needs into clear functional and nonfunctional requirements * Write technical user stories and acceptance criteria that developers can execute without additional clarification * Conduct gap analysis between current systems and future API capabilities * Create AsIs / ToBe process flows using BPMN or UML * Treat APIs as products by considering usability, versioning, and downstream impact Required Skills & Experience * 3-5+ years of work as a Technical Business Analyst or Systems Analyst * Handson API testing experience using Postman (required) * Experience writing technical requirements for development teams * Strong understanding of RESTful APIs * Experience with Jira, Confluence, LucidCharts, Visio, or similar tools * Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with developers and business stakeholders * Comfortable operating in an onsite, highvisibility environment Nice to Have * Financial Services, Banking, Mortgage, or FinTech experience * Experience with Swagger / OpenAPI * Familiarity with authentication and security concepts (OAuth2, JWT, API keys) * Prior experience working in fastmoving or lightly structured teams * This team values presence, accountability, and strong communication Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
