Maintenance Technician

Pay : $29.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of production equipment and facility systems to ensure efficient operations and minimal downtime. This role performs mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The technician also supports continuous improvement initiatives and assists with equipment changeovers and line startups. Job Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on production machinery and facility support equipment to reduce unscheduled downtime
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment to identify and resolve operational issues
Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs
Perform maintenance and repairs on motors, instrumentation, distribution systems, and feed control systems
Follow all safety protocols including Lock-out/Tag-out procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and OSHA guidelines
Complete assigned work orders within the designated timeframe and maintain detailed maintenance records in tracking systems
Assist with equipment changeovers and production line startups, addressing issues as needed
Identify required replacement parts, maintain inventory levels, and support parts reordering
Ensure products are manufactured according to established quality standards
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements
Communicate effectively with production teams and other departments to resolve equipment-related issues
Job Requirements
Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment
Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and plant electrical systems
Knowledge of motors, instrumentation, feed systems, and industrial equipment maintenance
Familiarity with safety procedures including Lock-out/Tag-out, GMP, OSHA, and food safety standards
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50-80 lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours) and perform repetitive motions
Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and operate manlifts or scissor lifts at elevated heights using proper safety equipment
Ability to work in non-air-conditioned environments
Frequent walking, reaching, handling tools, and working with hands
Frequent exposure to oils, greases, and coolants
Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme heat, chemicals, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and maintain balance when required
Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
7AM-7PM 2 days on, and 2 days off, then 3 days on and 2 days off. off every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday
