Responsibilities:

Job Summary
The END Technician will assess, plan, coordinate and perform nerve conduction studies and present results to a neurology physician to interpret and result to patients. The END Technician will provide direct patient care and ensure that the testing site adheres to regulatory standards set forth by the organization and the Arizona department of health. The END Technician will ensure that patients are provided quality care by preparing the patient and the study for positive outcomes to include standard precautionary procedures, explaining the procedure to the patient, and addressing any concerns.
Essential Functions
  • Function independently as a staff END Technician. Maintain all aspects of medical record management, keeps current in treatment techniques and is a clinical resource to staff. Perform standard and complex EMG/NCS studies, EEG studies, and autonomic studies. Obtain recordings and delivers results to physician for interpretation. Report critical test results to interpreting physician and documents all communications according to facility policy and procedure.
  • Patient care coordination to include scheduling, patient navigation, and serve as a point of contact for diagnostic testing within the clinic. Summarize the patient's neurologic status and clinical history from the chart, patient, or other knowledgeable persons. Explain the recording procedures to the patient and any family members present.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies. Reorder as necessary. Detect instrument malfunction, make minor maintenance adjustments, or report need for major repairs to Clinical Engineering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Other Board Certification in NCS by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine - Preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Other Completion of NCS training program or Associates/Bachelors in related - Required
  • Other Completion of electroneurodiagnostic training program or Associates/Bachelors in related - Required
Experience
  • 6 months related experience - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • EMG/NCS Certificate - Preferred
