SkyePoint Decisions is seeking a Senior System Architect to join our team supporting the Department of Education's (DoED) Federal Student Aid (FSA) Cybersecurity and Privacy Support Services (CPSS) in Washington, DC. This is a remote position. Responsibilities:
- Supports all aspects of thearchitecturesneeded for the operational, technical, andinformational.
- Discerns customer requirements and confirms models address them.
- Develops and explicates IT solutions based on the enterprise's strategic business or technical requirements.
- Defines the approach for structuring each application, including determining appropriate use of technology solutions.
- Defines and validates technical requirements and architecture quality attributes.
- Designs high quality architectures and drives architecture activities that are aligned to organization requirements set by leadership on behalf of stakeholders and are consistent with enterprise architectural standards.
- Designs, develops, implements, utilizes, and conforms to enterprise cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, focusing on expertise in cloud technologies.
- In addition, designs andmaintainssecurity to supportCI/CDDevOps infrastructure.
- Manages Information Technology applications projects, including the design, development, and implementation of components of the IT architecture.
- Develops and communicates architectural proposals for various projects and initiatives.
- Develops and coordinates IT strategy and oversees implementation of integrated systems.
- Collaborates with business owners, Analysts, Engineers, development teams, and infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application and data architecture standards, policies, and directions.
- Maintains and evaluates current equipment.
- Designs, develops, implements, utilizes, and conforms to enterprise information technology, cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, focusing on expertise in cloud technologies.
- Collaborates with business owners, Analysts, Engineers, development teams, and infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application standards, policies, and directions.
- Designs, validates, and implements scalable system infrastructure.
- Evaluates and analyzes complex systems architecture for performance and efficiency improvements.
- Designs high quality architectures and drives architecture activities that are aligned to organization requirements set by leadership on behalf of stakeholders and are consistent with enterprise architectural standards. This position will also provide the capabilities to design the solution for the client based on cloud technologies.
- May manage cloud design efforts, responsible for ensuring the design considers the organizational requirements, security requirements, and design that facilitates the organizations goals.
- Designs andvalidatesenterprise security architectures aligned with Zero Trust and NIST SP 800-207.
- Leads development of Engineering Design Documents (EDDs), architecture blueprints, and control mappings.
- Supports integration of SIEM, SOAR, CDM,TDSP,EDR,AWS cloud native,and identity platformsamong multiple cybersecurity tools.
- Advises onmodernization, cloud migration, and secure system design.
- Participates inarchitecturegovernance boards and technical working groups.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with the planning, management, leadership, and coordination of multiple concurrent tasks, each with strict deadlines for a large-scalecybersecurity design thatis integrated with business-critical systems.
- An AWS Solution Architect certification is mandatory.
- 12+ years of experience in supportingCybersecurityInformation Technology.
- 3+ years of experience in supporting Cloud Basesolutions.
- Demonstrated understanding of the software development/enhancement/maintenance lifecycle.
- Ability to perform complex technical tasks.
- Strong technical understanding ofcybersecuritydeployment,functionalityand operation ofsecurity capabilitiessuch as SIEM, EDR, CDM, pen testing,DevSecOps, Identity and Access Management, and AWS GovCloud systems.
- Required to have andmaintaina Non-Sensitive / High Risk (Public Trust) security clearance (Tier 4/6c).
- Strongknowledge of recent technological advances in computer science and engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience withEKS,ECSand overallcontainerized environments.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Compensation: Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000 The SkyePoint Decisions salary range for this position is a general guideline only. It represents an estimated range for this position and is just one piece of our total compensation package. Salary at SkyePoint is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work schedule, the candidate's combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, market data and business considerations.
