Job Title: Selector Il

Location: Jacksonville, FL, USA, 32209

Duration: 3+ months

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8 AM to 430 PM and Friday 6 AM to 430 PM (or when finished)

Note:

  • Please have steel-toe boots on day 1 and an extra jacket or sweater for a cold environment.
  • We select different temperature zones throughout the week, depending on workload, sometimes throughout the day.
  • Equipment: Electric riding triple pallet jack



Responsibilities:

  • Follow the warehouse management system directed selection pick path, accurately select product from inventory, label correctly, stage product on pallet, and transport to staging area for shipment.
  • Stack products on pallet with heavier items on bottom and lighter items on top to prevent damage to lighter product and to maintain a secure pallet.
  • Secure pallets with shrink wrap according to established PWMs for delivery.

    Record any necessary/required item information into the warehouse management system.

    Inspect product being moved for shortages, damage, quality, or deterioration of packing and report to supervisor.
  • Must successfully complete the pallet jack certification process and testing and be able to perform the PWMs.
  • Work effectively with immediate supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink/damage (product loss).
  • Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aisles, and the accuracy of warehouse locations.
  • Report any unfixable/unsafe issues immediately to supervisor.
  • Observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries.
  • Operate appropriate MHE, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and orderly manner to eliminate accidents and injuries.
  • Observe proper lifting techniques and physical work practices in accordance with established PWMs.
  • Ensure that MHE is maintained (perform daily inspection) and clean; report repair or service needs to supervisor to minimize equipment damage and down time.
  • Use warehouse computers and RF equipment in a safe and professional manner to avoid damage to equipment.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies (i.e. attendance, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Associate Handbook, etc.
  • Comply with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e. OSHA {Occupational Health and Safety Administration}, HACCP {Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points}, etc.).
  • Supports food safety policies, standard operating procedures, and prerequisite food safety control programs that meet legal and quality requirements and industry best practices as defined in our Food Safety Commitment documentation.
  • Performs other warehouse duties as assigned.
  • 3-5 Years of Experience, Responsible for operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, selecting the correct products from warehouse racking, labeling product using SOS label technology, palletizing product as it is selected to build customer orders, and delivering product to the dock in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Hand selects orders within various warehouse environments of fluctuating temperatures, including Dry, Cooler, and Freezer, operates assigned SOS unit to create labels, correctly places labels on product, stacks product on pallets in accordance with proper selecting procedures (e.g., no stacking heavy-on-light, labels facing out, etc.), stages pallets for loading on proper dock locations, stretch-wraps product on loading dock, maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to pallet jack, SOS unit, and personal protective equipment, and performs pre and post-trip inspections of equipment.
  • Must follow Client Safe preferred work methods at all times and follow sanitation requirements in order to comply with policy set forth by Client and by AIB (American Institute of Baking).
  • This position requires working until all products are accurately selected and loaded including potential overtime on holidays and weekends.
  • Essential skills include the ability to meet or exceed minimum efficiency levels established through an engineered production standard, working rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift in a fast paced environment, meeting or exceeding established cases per error goals, and developing a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.
  • Basic requirements include being over the age of 18, the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements, basic arithmetic skills, and adequate physical fitness to lift up to 100 lbs regularly.
  • Reports to Night Warehouse Manager / Supervisor.
