Position summary

We're seeking temporary support for our Naperville office to assist with workstation builds, asset management, and shipping/receiving operations. This role focuses on imaging and configuring new computers, maintaining accurate asset records, and coordinating hardware shipments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in IT operations.

What will you do in this role?

Workstation Setup and Configuration

  • Image, configure, and deploy workstations following company standards
  • Install necessary hardware and software on new systems
  • Ensure builds meet security and compliance requirements

Asset Management

  • Update hardware records in the asset management platform
  • Verify and apply serial numbers and asset tags to all equipment
  • Track new, in-use, and retired hardware with accurate, real-time information
  • Resolve any asset discrepancies or documentation issues

Shipping and Receiving

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of computers
  • Track all shipping and receiving activities to maintain chain of custody
  • Prepare equipment for shipment to end users
  • Previous experience with computer hardware or asset management preferred but not required

Technical Skills

  • Basic familiarity with computer hardware components
  • Comfortable with Windows operating systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to learn new software systems quickly (asset management platform training provided)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, kneeling, and bending while building systems

Availability

  • Part-time schedule
  • Temporary assignment

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Currently pursuing or completed coursework in IT or related field, or equivalent experience

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $24.04 hourly. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
