  • Postdoctoral Fellow: $34.25-37.82 per hour

The Li and Shuck Laboratories at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, a nationally ranked NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow or Staff Scientist to join our translational prostate cancer research program. This position is open at either the Postdoctoral or Staff Scientist level, commensurate with experience, scientific independence, and leadership readiness.

Our laboratory investigates prostate cancer progression and therapeutic response through the integration of in vivo and in vitro tumor models, tumor metabolism, and tumor microenvironment (TME) biology, including studies involving radiotherapy and radioligand-based approaches. The lab operates in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary setting with close partnerships across clinical, computational, and translational research teams, and access to state-of-the-art institutional core facilities.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Design, execute, and optimize rigorous in vivo and in vitro experiments related to prostate cancer biology.

  • Lead or contribute to independent and collaborative research projects, depending on career stage.

  • Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data at laboratory meetings, institutional forums, and scientific conferences.

  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, publications, and grant-related activities.

  • Collaborate closely with clinicians, computational scientists, and institutional core facilities.

  • Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant research documentation in accordance with institutional policies.

  • For Staff Scientist-level candidates: provide technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic input across multiple projects.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • PhD in cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology, or a related biomedical science.

  • Strong hands-on experience with in-vivo mouse tumor models.

  • Demonstrated record of scientific productivity through peer-reviewed publications.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative research environment.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with prostate cancer models (e.g., PDX, organoids, syngeneic systems).

  • Background in tumor immunology, metabolism, or TME biology.

  • Experience with immunophenotyping, imaging, and/or multi-omics approaches.

  • Familiarity with radiotherapy or radioligand therapy models.

  • For Staff Scientist candidates: prior experience mentoring trainees or leading complex experimental workflows.
