THE POSITION

Join us as a County Social Services Aide 1 and help us provide families with supportive services such as visitation, transportation, and other services that may help address and reduce allegations of abuse and neglect within the family. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this important role, you will receive requests from caseworkers to initiate visitation or reunification services. This involves working with families on tasks that will ensure children return to a safe environment. You can expect to assist caseworkers with transportation, placement visits, and referrals to community programs. Additional duties include communicating with parties involved to schedule visits, completing contact reports following visits, and supervising children during hearings and family meetings. This position conducts drug testing of clients and attends meetings, training, seminars, and conferences as required. Our ideal candidate will have good communication and attention to detail skills, ability to handle confidential information, and be knowledgeable of office procedures and records administration.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
