DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
This position focuses on completing skilled maintenance and repair work across several trades at the journeyman level. Primarily you will be assigned duties in the plumbing shop completing plumbing projects. You can expect to exercise technical independence in determining work methods and procedures by receiving assignments orally or through written instructions, which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Trade Skills: Perform tasks in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC to keep facility systems in good working order
- Equipment Work: Install, maintain, and repair machines and equipment throughout the facility and grounds
- Painting Projects: Complete all steps of painting work including preparing surfaces, applying paint, and maintaining tools
- Grounds Care: Maintain outdoor areas through lawn care, snow removal, and upkeep of facility surroundings
- Plumbing Tasks: Carry out pipe cutting, fixture installation, and work on heating, refrigeration, water, sewage, and gas systems
- Electrical Tasks: Measure, cut, and assemble conduit, splice wiring, and install control and distribution equipment

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Hours may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime: As needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
