Description

The Environmental Studies Program at Tufts University is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach Environment, Communication and Culture in Fall 2026. This is an introductory-level class that meets 2 times/week (Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:30PM - 2:45PM) at the Medford campus.

Environment, Communication and Culture is a mandatory introductory class in the Environmental Communication track within the Environmental Studies major. This course examines where people's beliefs about environmental issues come from, how news and entertainment media cover environmental challenges, and why good coverage of critical issues is so rare. The course also explores green marketing and the relationship among politics, environmental issues, and the media, and discuss how media can be used by individuals and advocacy groups to effect social change. A syllabus is available upon request but we encourage applicants to tailor the course around their own strengths in the field.
