DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Administrative Assistant 1 is responsible for performing a variety of administrative, clerical, and technical services that are carried out with a great deal of independence. Administrative and clerical responsibilities include coordinating records documentation and file maintenance, organizing and updating knowledge of provider resources, and facilitating the Agency's internal program monitoring. This will also involve scheduling timely meetings and preparing training and on-boarding materials as needed. Additionally, you would act as the technical lead for the Agency's imaging database by scanning and uploading all identified and pertinent documents, entering data into the Statewide Adoption Network portal for children in care and track related data, and monitoring incidents through our tracking system.

In this role, you would also be responsible for technical details in the management of contracts utilized by Wayne County Children and Youth Services. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, tracking contracts, generating contracts each year with new information, and ensuring contracts are properly executed with supporting documentation. Our team will rely on your keen attention to detail and collaboration with other fiscal personnel in monitoring these details to ensure the County can be reimbursed for services provided.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Often, irregular hours, including evening and weekends may be required.
  • Employee may have occasional overnight travel or out of County travel for meetings or training.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
