Co-op Student will learn protein production, purification and labeling techniques, glycan microarray analysis and general features of cell culture. This will allow Co-op Student to learn fundamental principles of biochemistry, cell biology and scientific procedures in the lab.
As part of an open lab format, Co-op Student will interact with everyone on the research floor, which includes the laboratories of Mel Feany, Jon Aster, Connie Arthur, Chris French and Li Chai. Dr. Arthur's lab in particular is right next to the Stowell lab and will provide a great opportunity for additional exposure and experience. Dr. Stowell will meet with trainee every week at 8 AM on Monday morning for 1 hour. Dr. Stowell's office will be open to student at any other time that student would like to meet.
