Job Description:

Position Summary:

Partner with credit union business units to identify and analyze business challenges, assess the impact of the proposed solutions, and support operational improvements. Responsibilities include evaluating business needs, gathering and analyzing data, conducting root cause analysis, documenting processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and translating business objectives into system requirements. The incumbent supports the design and development of effective business solutions, defines project scope and objectives, measures expected value or benefit, and assists with the implementation, installation, and testing of new products and services. Additionally, this role collaborates with IT groups and external vendors to support technical solution delivery and implementation.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain formal documentation of procedures and processes using a concise and consistent approach of continuous improvement, preferably Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Manage all project phase deliverables including data research, process flow documentation, root cause analysis, data transformation mapping & routing.
  • Interview process owners and additional SMEs, including and leadership and Executive Leadership, to gather business process details and to identify solution requirements.
  • Support developing short-term, and long-term, strategic plans and processes that will give a competitive advantage through improved member service, increased revenue, and/or lowered costs.
  • Lead projects using a sound project management methodology that includes collaborative planning, clearly documented objectives, identification and estimation of project plans, formation and management of project teams comprised of credit union and vendor resources, formal communication of project status and changes, creation and execution of quality assurance plans, and thorough analysis of project results.
  • Identify opportunities, in a proactive manner, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
  • Collaborate with peers in the industry to gain insights on trends and risks, to find proven solutions that match our strategic plan, and to understand potential opportunities and threats in the market.
  • Establish a strong, trusted partnership with internal process owners that will focus on forward-thinking, strategic growth of processes in alignment with goals of the process owner and the credit union.
  • Communicate effectively and achieve buy in for credit union strategies, milestones, and deliverables from process owners, management, and organizational leadership.
  • Collaborate with partners to resolve barriers that prohibit successful process transformation execution.
  • Assist business units and Project Management Office with the Project Lifecycle Processes by managing small cross functional projects.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union.

  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated Change Management and Change Leadership Skills
  • Executive Presence and communication skills required to interface with Sr. Leadership
  • Knowledge of how to utilize adaptable project methodologies and realignment practices.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, process analysis, and time management skills.
  • Experience in lean or six sigma continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, dealing with intangibles with an innovative mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and business acumen.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 + years' experience in operations, business analyst, or similar role within a financial institution
  • Lean Certification preferred
  • Able to work outside hours in peak phases of the project when required
