About the Job

University Marketing Communications reports to the president and primary functions are marketing, public relations, and communications.

Job Responsibilities/ Duties

  • Support and assist with event execution, including preparation, scheduling, and day-of-duties.
  • Assist with the promotion of events through marketing and communications.
  • Capture social media content (photos, videos) for use in the central University of Minnesota channels.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed by the Marketing Team
Qualifications

Required

  • Must be able to work at the Minnesota State Fair, August 27-September 7
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to specified locations
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a strong work ethic with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must have an energetic personality and passion for the position
  • Familiarity with social media including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, and other similar platforms

Preferred

  • Background in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Design, or another related discipline.
  • Events experience
  • Graphic design experience (Adobe CS, Canva, etc.)
  • Photography experience a plus
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
