HDR is seeking a Data & GIS / Management Analyst to join our North Carolina/South Carolina Management Consulting Business Class within the Water Business Group. This position is intended for an early-career professional (0-5 years of experience) who is analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated to support water, wastewater, and stormwater organizations through data-driven analysis and consulting services.The Data & GIS / Management Analyst will work under the guidance of project managers and senior consultants to support a wide range of utility management and management consulting initiatives, with a strong emphasis on GIS-based analysis, data management, and clear technical communication through memoranda and reports.
Primary Responsibilities
* Support project managers and senior consultants in delivering water management consulting services for water, wastewater, and stormwater organizations.
* Perform GIS-based spatial analyses (ArcGIS Pro) to support planning, asset management, condition assessment, and capital improvement programs.
* Analyze large datasets from GIS, CMMS, inspection databases, and spreadsheets to identify trends and insights.
* Obtain, clean, merge, and analyze data from multiple sources.
* Prepare technical memoranda, reports, maps, and exhibits for technical and non-technical audiences.
* Support business process assessments and data collection efforts.
* Assist with dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI
* Contribute to asset management and master planning best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Planning, Data Science, or related field.
* 0-5 years of relevant experience in water and/or wastewater consulting, operations, engineering, or GIS analysis.
* Proficiency with Esri Desktop Software (ArcGIS Pro) and Web Applications (i.e., ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Experience Builder, Dashboards.)
* Experience with Power BI.
* Familiarity with CMMS, asset management systems, or utility databases.
* Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong written communication and memo-writing skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools.
* Local candidates preferred with the ability to work on-site in the office in a collaborative team environment
* Exposure to water, wastewater, or stormwater municipal planning or asset management
