About the role:

Work with a team of engineers to support the hardware design and delivery of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) cabinets and associated electro-mechanical hardware components and subassemblies. Ensure that hardware designs and project documentation meet applicable system & quality requirements. Work closely with manufacturing operations to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products are in accordance with build-to-print drawing packages and specifications.

You will report to the Manager, Safety HW Engineering & Drafting - Global I&C Production & IV&V and will be Hybrid in Warrendale, PA.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the hardware design and delivery of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) cabinets and associated electro-mechanical hardware components and subassemblies.
  • Issue hardware design documentation such as system architecture drawings, network layouts, cabinet, console or panel drawings, and cable & wiring schematics for I&C products.
  • Manage Bill of Materials and revision control of design packages.
  • Compile technical and quality documentation for procurement, design, testing and manufacturing of I&C hardware products.
  • Generate design, test, equipment, and requirements specifications for I&C hardware.
  • Work closely with manufacturing operations to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products are in accordance with build-to-print drawing packages and specifications.
  • Ensure that hardware designs and project documentation meet applicable system & quality requirements.
  • Interface with engineering organizations and third-party test facilities in conducting equipment qualification tests.
  • Perform engineering calculations in support of design or analysis of products.
  • Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence.
  • Support development of test procedures and execution of functional tests.
  • Interface with suppliers and/or manufacturing facilities to support technical issue resolution.
  • Interface with engineering organizations and third-party test facilities in conducting equipment qualification tests.
  • Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues.
  • Identify and promote process improvements and enhancements to increase quality of work products, drivestandardization, and improve manufacturability.
  • Provide technical support for product development, project implementation, schedules, cost estimates and proposals.
  • Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international).
  • Execute assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements.
  • Provide coaching & mentoring for engineers supporting project deliverables.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Support complex and dynamic project execution.
  • Strong verbal skills with both internal and external customers.


We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
