Aquent is partnering with a globally recognized leader in performance innovation to hire a Lab Technician, supporting our client's senior Innovators in bringing concepts to life. This is a high-energy, technical contract role centered on machine operation, prototype craftsmanship, and mid-scale production runs. If you have a "maker" mindset and love figuring out how machines work, this is your spot. This is a year-long engagement working in Beaverton, OR. Past professional experience working in plastics, the consumer goods industry, or the biomedical industries is preferred.


What You'll Do:

  • Operate prototyping and manufacturing machinery
  • Support prototype and sample builds
  • Prepare materials, tooling, and machine setups
  • Adjust equipment settings for precision outcomes
  • Record measurements and maintain sample documentation
  • Organize materials, tools, and lab environments
  • Track sample progress across project teams
  • Support process trials and innovation initiatives
  • Cross-train across multiple machine systems


What You'll Bring:


  • 2-4 years in manufacturing, prototyping, or technical lab environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience operating machinery or industrial equipment
  • Precision craftsmanship and hands-on building skills
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic Adobe Illustrator knowledge
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs


Nice to Have:


  • Industrial machinery experience
  • Plastics or welding experience
  • Biomedical manufacturing
  • Consumer product prototyping
  • Mechanical or industrial engineering background
  • Personal maker hobbies (woodworking, model building, ceramics, etc.)
