Performs various projects and special assignments as requested by the assigned area. Please see department manager for specific responsibilities, duties, and qualifications.

Position Summary/Essential Duties:

  • Supports the Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre (OHC) programs and communications teams
  • Develops outreach email campaigns to patient advocacy groups to introduce OHC to the rare disease community
  • Works with the OHC communications team to identify patients and write up their stories of living with a rare disease
  • Researches US policies that impact rare disease therapeutic development and makes recommendations on which policies and updates the OHC should comment on
  • Prepares post-Symposium content (photos, videos) and leads the project to create a recap video with Harrington's video agency
  • Tracks progress of Harrington Scholars and Harrington investment companies through Google Alerts
  • Researches and makes recommendations for increasing diversity in the Scholar-Innovator applicant pool especially with female physician-scientists
  • Researchers and updates the Medical School Dean database for Harrington Prize for Innovation in Medicine
  • Develops social media content under the direction of the Harrington Brand Manager
  • Supports marketing analysis through data entry and database management, including email list clean-up, lead generation tracking, basic trend analysis, and responding to and routing inquiries from the OHC "Contact Us" website form

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
