Job Description: The Welding Senior Manager, supports the Director of Alignment for Welding Programs by managing key operational, compliance, and alignment activities across Texas State Technical College's statewide Welding program. This role is critical to ensuring consistent compliance with SACSCOC, state, and accrediting body requirements while supporting the continued growth of credit, non-credit, and Dual Enrollment programs. The Welding Senior Manager focuses on execution, documentation, and operational accuracy, enabling the Director to prioritize strategic leadership, curriculum innovation, industry partnerships, and statewide program coordination.

The anticipated mid-range for this position will be around 80k+ in addition to full state benefits. Salary will be determined based upon background and experience. This position could potentially be based from any of our campuses with the expectation of a minimum of 25% travel. Essential Functions

Program Alignment & Compliance

Ensures ongoing compliance with SACSCOC, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), and other applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Prepares, reviews, and maintains documentation required for audits, accreditation reviews, and program approvals.

Dual Enrollment Oversight

Conducts and documents Dual Enrollment high school inspections in alignment with institutional, state, and accrediting requirements. Coordinates with secondary partners to ensure instructional quality, credential compliance, and documentation accuracy.

Credit Transfer Evaluation

Reviews and processes student credit transfer requests related to Welding programs. Ensures timely, accurate evaluations aligned with institutional policy and state requirements.

Instructor Credentialing & Recruitment Support

Assists with instructor recruitment processes, including verification of credentials, work experience, and compliance with accrediting and state standards. Maintains credential files and supports onboarding activities to ensure instructional readiness.

Accreditation Documentation & Reporting

Prepares and submits JAC and FCV forms for accreditation compliance and District of Alignment (DA) approval. Maintains accurate, auditable records supporting instructional delivery, faculty qualifications, and program approvals.

Records Management & Audit Support

Maintains centralized records and documentation to support internal reviews, external audits, and accreditation visits. Ensures consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of program records across campuses.

Operational Coordination

Coordinates daily operational alignment activities across campuses, supporting consistent implementation of policies, procedures, and instructional standards. Shares travel and inspection workload with the Director of Alignment to support statewide program needs.

Data Accuracy & Reporting

Supports accurate data collection and reporting for institutional, state, and federal requirements. Ensures alignment between program operations and reported outcomes.

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree or higher in Welding Technology, Education, Business, or a related field; relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in supervising academic programs, workforce education, compliance, or instructional operations.

Demonstrated experience with accreditation, credential verification, or regulatory compliance in an educational or training environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Dual Enrollment programs, credit transfer processes, or statewide academic programs.

Familiarity with SACSCOC standards and Texas higher education compliance requirements.

Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of academic compliance, accreditation processes, and documentation standards.

Ability to conduct site visits, inspections, and evaluations with professionalism and consistency.

Strong organizational, analytical, and record-keeping skills with high attention to detail.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with faculty, administrators, and external partners.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and statewide responsibilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with program leadership.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly to campuses and Dual Enrollment partner sites.
