As the Plant Controller, you will be part of the Operations Finance Team. You will support the Sylmar Aerospace plant and will be a critical member of the plant leadership team, contributing to and leading performance improvement projects at the facility. You will ensure alignment, engagement, and progress toward clearly defined project goals and deliverables.

You will report to the Aerospace Transparencies Controller. This position could be either onsite at the Sylmar Plant or in the PPG General Office in Pittsburgh. Travel 2-4 times per year depending on where the position is located.

The base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000, with the possibility of an annual bonus up to 10% of base salary. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in plant meetings to provide insight on results, collect information and challenge performance
  • Improve productivity through analytics and projects including scrap, productivity, capacity use and addressing bottle necks
  • You will work with Operations Accounting to provide variance analysis and full understanding of plant level results
  • Complete month end closing activities such as calculation or approval of journal entries, review of account balances and explanation and presentation of results to finance
  • You will work with the plant leadership team to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for capital spending; ensure most critical projects are completed on time, on budget and are embedded in plans
  • Conduct post-completion analysis of critical investments to ensure key deliverables are being met
  • Support Operations Accounting and Plant Operations team as the on-site liaison to optimize inventory
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and improve around excess and obsolete inventory and scrap

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience prior cost accounting or manufacturing financial support experience required
  • EPR experience required- QAD, Oracle or SAP experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
