Lead Material Handler

What we're looking for

Education: High School education or GED preferred.

Experience: 3 years' experience - Requires good supervisory and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA Forklift and HAZMAT certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with personal computers and material handling equipment is essential.
• Strong decision-making and coaching skills.
• Ability to drive results.

• Help establish work schedules.
• Ensures schedules are implemented correctly and jobs are completed properly.
• Applies sound communication and motivational techniques to lead, supervise, coach, and discipline associates.
• Provides performance evaluations to recommend promotions, wage increases, associate development, and terminations.
• Supervises checking and unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with a high level of productivity.
• Verifies required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.
• Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage.
• Completes all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Computers are used to analyze daily and weekly production metrics.
• Assists in physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Maintains product locator system.
• Ensures the optimal utilization of space.
• Rotates product as appropriate.
• Ensures the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assists in maintaining warehouse security.
• Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
• Attends warehouse planning meetings.
• Acts as liaison between employees and management.
• Communicates industry and brand knowledge to associates.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
