Position Summary

The Art Department at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria is seeking applications to build a qualified pool of part-time faculty for potential vacancies.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

Beginning/Advanced Ceramics, Sculpture, 3-D Design, and Wheel-Throwing. Allan Hancock College is accepting applications to establish a pool of qualified candidates to teach Art and Design at the Santa Maria Campus, both remotely and in person. The ideal candidate will share the College's commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.

1. Teach college courses in Art (can be all or one of the following specialties): 3-D Studio Art.
2. In addition, faculty are required to assist in curriculum revisions and new course development, consult with students during office and lab hours, maintain expertise in current technologies, and perform other professional duties as are required by contract and general institutional needs.


Minimum Qualifications

Master's in fine arts, art, or art history
OR
Bachelor's in any of the above
AND
Master's in Humanities
OR
The equivalent as outlined in the attached Equivalency Petition.

(NOTE: 'Master's in fine arts" as used here refers to any master's degree in the subject matter of fine arts, which is defined to include visual studio arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and metal and jewelry art; and also art education and art therapy. It does not refer to the "Master of Fine Arts" (MFA) degree when that degree is based on specialization in performing arts or dance, film, video, photography, creative writing, or other neoplastic arts.)


Additional Information

SALARY:
* Lecture Rate: $56.46 to $86.44 per hour, depending upon education and experience

* Lab Rate: $49.17 to $75.26 per hour, depending upon education and experience

* Activity Rate: $36.33 to $56.69 per hour, depending upon education and experience
