Summary: The ESP Advisor supports Diamondback's ESP program by serving as a subject matter expert across all aspects of ESP performance and reliability. This role provides hands-on expertise in failure analysis, system design, surveillance, and standards development to ensure consistent, high-quality execution across the lifecycle of ESP applications. The ESP Advisor partners closely with production engineers and ESP service providers to diagnose failures, optimize system performance, and implement best practices. Through detailed analysis, field support, and vendor coordination, this position plays a critical role in driving safe, reliable, and economically optimized ESP operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to

  • Coordinate DIFA activities with ESP providers and third-party consultants, including witnessing inspections and participating in failure mechanism and root cause identification.
  • Review, interpret, and analyze ESP operational and production data to diagnose failures and provide clear failure analysis summaries to production engineers.
  • Support production engineers with ESP troubleshooting, service call coordination, design reviews, surveillance activities, and field performance optimization.
  • Assist with the management, deployment, and tracking of company-owned ESP inventory and assets.
  • Participate in the development, revision, and implementation of company ESP standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Contribute to ESP provider performance reviews and technical and commercial evaluations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience with ESP manufacturing, assembly, testing, and system components.
  • Strong working knowledge of centrifugal pump design, application, and troubleshooting, including relevant mechanical and electrical components.
  • Experience with ESP system scoping, design, selection, specification, and full lifecycle field operations.
  • Proficiency with ESP variable speed drive configuration, setup, and control systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ESP-related manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, coating, and component assembly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology or Math, or equivalent experience
  • Direct experience working for both an ESP service provider and an operating company.
  • Understanding of well economics and performance drivers associated with ESP applications.
  • Familiarity with Permian Basin horizontal unconventional well operations.
