Summary:

Our vehicles travel between Maryland and Virginia daily. Thus, this role is critical to ensure the successful completion of the Route Sales Drivers' responsibilities. Additionally, the Garage Mechanic ensures that the company vehicles always remain safe & operational. Accurate situation awareness is required as this is a safety sensitive position in the garage environment and for our members on the road.

Role & Responsibilities



  • Diagnostics & Repair: Using computerized equipment to identify problems and repairing mechanical/electrical failures in engines, transmissions, and brake systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Performing oil changes, fluid level checks, belt inspections, and tire rotations to ensure vehicle longevity.
  • Customer Communication: Explaining technical issues, providing repair estimates, and discussing maintenance needs with clients.
  • Documentation & Safety: Maintaining detailed repair records, keeping the work area clean, and adhering to company and government safety regulations.
  • Testing: Test-driving vehicles and testing repaired parts to confirm proper functioning.



Education: High school diploma or GED. Vocational Certification are preferred.

Qualifications



  • Moderate/Advanced mechanical ability.
  • Moderate/Advanced understanding of basic tools.
  • Must be available for rotating weekend shifts.
  • Work nights and weekends, as needed.



Requirements & Physical Demands



  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during a shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools, or controls
  • Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings to ensure the safety of self and others in a fast-paced, hazard-sensitive environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and airborne particles, odors, and fumes.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required by the position.
