Description

The Department of Medicine is seeking to a hire a skilled Procurement Coordinator to support purchasing and accounts payable functions across departments, divisions, research labs, and administrative units.

This role serves as the primary point of contact for procurement-related needs and is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and executing purchasing activities. Key duties include processing purchase orders, travel arrangements, and reimbursement requests for faculty and staff, while ensuring all transactions comply with University policies and procedures.

The incumbent will act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors, facilitating timely procurement and payment processing. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to success in this role.

Hourly range: $32.67-$49.71

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Analytical skills necessary to evaluate the cost effectiveness of purchasing options.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to read and interpret terms and conditions of contracts.
  • Working level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, with high degree of accuracy.

Preferred:

  • 1 - 3 years Purchasing
  • Some knowledge of the organization's departments and operations required in order to meet their procurement needs
  • Understands procurement policies and systems such as Procurement, Travel systems, etc.
