Assistant Vice President (AVP), Senior Loan Operations Officer

Position Summary
The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Senior Loan Operations Officer serves as a subject matter expert, overseeing high-complexity operational duties and ensuring technical accuracy across loan servicing and documentation. This role is distinguished by its autonomy and the technical depth required to manage regulatory reporting, audit coordination, and sophisticated loan pledging.
The incumbent acts as a strategic lead within the department, providing high-level guidance to the Loan Operations team while supporting the VP, Loan Operations Manager in maintaining departmental efficiency and regulatory integrity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Support
- Acts as a lead technical resource for Loan Operations Specialists (I-III), providing oversight for the documentation of new loans, renewals, and modifications, primarily focusing on commercial portfolios via LaserPro.
- Facilitates the resolution of complex, high-level customer issues and provides troubleshooting support for the broader team.
- Assists executive leadership in managing daily operational workflows to ensure departmental goals are met.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
- Ensures strict adherence to internal Bank policies, state mandates, and federal banking regulations.
- Manages the SBA 7(a) portfolio, including accurate completion of SBA 1502 reporting, ongoing monitoring through the CAFS system, and managing payoffs and communications with Guidehouse.
- Oversees specialized mortgage processes, including Rocket Mortgage/Quicken workflows and the coordination of annual audits.
- Collaborates regarding Mortgage Pool purchases.
Audit, Risk, & Legal Coordination
- Leads the coordination and oversight of internal audits and regulatory examinations (State/Federal), covering Compliance, Fair Lending, and Mortgage Pools.
- Conducts comprehensive Flood Insurance Audits to ensure portfolio safety and compliance.
- Manages the monthly Federal Reserve Bank and quarterly Federal Home Loan Bank pledging processes.
- Directs research and timely completion of subpoenas in coordination with Legal Counsel, Special Assets, and Central Operations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive banking experience within Loan Operations.
- Technical Expertise: Minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in loan documentation (Commercial preferred), with advanced proficiency in LaserPro.
- Subject Matter Knowledge: Deep understanding of complex entity structures and their implications for loan documentation.
- Professionalism: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to present a professional image to both internal stakeholders and external regulators.
- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads and prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel and the MS Office Suite.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- While this role provides mentorship and technical leadership to the team, it does not currently carry formal supervisory responsibilities.
